Picky is a local-first app, and this notice keeps the app and the website apart because they behave differently.

The Picky app sends no telemetry or usage analytics. Your requests, screen context, and conversations stay on your Mac, except for what you send to the AI models, tools, and plugins you choose to use. Those services handle that data under their own terms.

The app contacts Picky-operated addresses only in these cases:

  • Update checks: Picky reads https://dl.picky.day/appcast.xml every 4 hours, or when you choose Check Now, and downloads the update when you choose Update. These requests reach Cloudflare, which serves dl.picky.day, with your IP address and the app version, like any web request.
  • Feedback: when you choose Send feedback in Picky Hub, your message, the attachments you add, and, if you leave them on, masked diagnostics are posted to the maintainer’s Slack workspace. Nothing is sent until you choose Send.
  • Phone access: off by default. When you turn it on, traffic goes between your own devices over the network path you set up (your Tailscale tailnet or Cloudflare Tunnel). Optional notifications go through your browser’s push service.

picky.day uses Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to count visits and downloads. It records:

  • pages viewed, the referring page, and time on page,
  • approximate location (country and city, derived from your IP address; Google Analytics 4 does not store the IP address itself),
  • browser, operating system, device type, and screen size,
  • clicks on download buttons, with which button was used.

Google Analytics sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_<ID> to tell repeat visits apart. They last up to two years. We do not use advertising features, Google signals, or cross-site tracking, and we do not combine analytics with any other data. Event data is kept for Google Analytics’ default retention period of two months.

Google processes this data as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. To opt out, block cookies for picky.day, use a content blocker, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Preview copies of this site (subdomains of picky.day) do not load analytics.

The website and downloads are served by Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes request data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site; see the Cloudflare privacy policy.

Use Send feedback in Picky Hub to ask about this notice. When this notice changes, the date at the bottom of the page changes too.
