Dock right-click menu
Section titled “Dock right-click menu”Right-click or Control-click a Pickle dock icon to open a smaller context menu. Labels follow Picky’s selected app language:
- Pin Picky Input to This Pickle / Unpin Picky Input: Route all subsequent Picky voice and Quick Input messages to this Pickle until you unpin it. The pinned item shows a checkmark.
- Send Next Picky Input to This Pickle / Cancel Next Picky Input Target: Route only one Picky voice or Quick Input message to this Pickle.
- Compact: Ask Pi to compress older session context.
- Archive: Archive the Pickle.
- Stop: Abort the Pickle when its current status allows stopping. It is disabled for terminal sessions.
Compaction is available only when the session is not currently running and not already compacting.
Compaction UX
Section titled “Compaction UX”Selecting Compact asks Pi to compress older session context so the Pickle can continue with a cleaner transcript.
What you will see:
- While compaction is running, the card shows a Compacting… overlay. The composer remains editable and accepts steer or follow-up messages; submitted messages appear in the queue and run in submission order after compaction finishes.
- Use
Option + Upif you want to pull those queued messages back into the composer and clear the queue before they run. - A queued message that carried screen context shows a
🖥️ N attachedmarker, so you can tell which pending messages already have screenshots. The marker is display-only: the screenshots cannot be restored into the composer, so Picky blocks theOption + Uprestore rather than silently dropping them. - On success, a Session compacted system row appears in the conversation with the token change (for example
128k → ~21k; the after value is Pi’s estimate). Expand the row to preview Pi’s compaction summary, and use Open as Report to read the full summary. - On failure, an error bubble explains the reason; queued messages are still released so they are not stranded.
Message rewind
Section titled “Message rewind”Selecting Rewind message… opens a picker that mirrors Pi’s /tree: it lists the Pickle’s previous user messages (newest marked as the current position), with a short preview and relative time. You can open the same picker by typing /tree in the composer and submitting it.
Pick an earlier message and confirm to rewind the conversation to that point:
- The chosen message and everything after it are removed from the card.
- The chosen message’s text is restored into the composer so you can edit it and continue from there.
- The earlier branch is preserved in the on-disk Pi session file (recover it with Sync from Pi session).
Rewind requires a Pi session file, so it is unavailable for sessions that have not produced one yet. If the Pickle is mid-turn, the active turn is stopped before rewinding.
