Report viewer

Open a report when you want to inspect a full Markdown response outside the compact HUD card.

Ways to open:

  • Cmd + R on an active Pickle with a latest response.
  • The open button that appears above a reply’s send time when you hover the bubble. Its icon shows where the report will open: the left or right side of the card, or a window.

Where it opens:

  • A report opens in a side panel attached beside the visible Pickle card, on the side away from the dock. Opening the same message again closes the panel; opening another message swaps its content.
  • Esc or Cmd + W closes the side panel (Esc closes the panel before it stops or closes the card). Open in Window moves the report into a window.
  • When there is no room beside the card, or no card is visible, the report opens as a window instead.
  • Report windows are grouped per Pickle: each Pickle gets one window with a tab per message. The title bar shows the Pickle’s dock group color, its name and group, and an Open Pickle button. A Pickle’s window reopens at its last position from the current run; new windows cascade off open ones.

Report viewer features:

  • Markdown rendering.
  • Outline (table of contents) navigation. When a report has two or more headings, a toggle appears in the header (also Cmd + Shift + O) to show a section list; wide reports pin the outline beside the text, narrow reports overlay it. Your last outline visibility choice is remembered.
  • In-report search (Cmd + F) that highlights matches and jumps between them with Enter / Shift + Enter.
  • More → Show in Finder reveals the backing report file.
  • Copy Markdown to clipboard.
  • Persistent zoom.

Where reports live and when they go away:

  • Every time you open a report, Picky writes a Markdown copy under ~/Library/Application Support/Picky/GeneratedReports/ named after the source message ID. Opening the same message again overwrites the same file rather than creating a new one.
  • On each app launch Picky sweeps that folder and deletes Markdown files older than 30 days (last modified). Non-.md files and subfolders are never touched, so anything you drop in there by hand stays put. The sweep runs in the background and silently no-ops on a fresh install or after a permissions hiccup.
